More About Massage Therapy
Naturally Inclined Health is pleased to offer massage therapy services to reduce tension in the body, prevent and recover from a variety of musculoskeletal conditions, and help clients to enjoy an overall better quality of life through better sleep, decreased stress, and pain relief.
A brief discussion between client and therapist takes place prior to all massage therapy sessions, inviting the client to be involved in the treatment planning process regarding body positioning, area(s) of the body treated, pressure levels, and goals or expected outcomes following treatment.
This type of massage uses techniques such as diaphragmatic breathing, compressions, gentle effleurage, and deeper petrissage, focusing on reducing sympathetic (fight-or-flight) nervous system activity that gets overstimulated by chronic stress.
Pressure can vary from light to deep tissue depending on the client’s request. This type of massage is extremely beneficial for those experience stiffness in their body, suffer from tension headaches, or are simply looking for an opportunity to relax and let the stresses of everyday life melt away.
Therapeutic massage uses a variety of manual therapy techniques including hydrotherapy, fascial release, trigger point release, deep petrissage techniques, joint mobilizations, and assisted stretches, all interspersed with general relaxation techniques to help calm the body.
A thorough assessment (15-30 minutes) including range of motion and orthopedic tests will be completed prior to the massage. Remedial exercises, to be performed at home, will be provided following the treatment to most effectively treat the condition. Communication between client and therapist are key in treating musculoskeletal conditions.
