Dr. Danyelle Lachowich ND
A little about Dr. Danyelle...
Dr. Danyelle Lachowich is currently completing the exams required to become a naturopathic doctor. She has an Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Alberta. During her final year of studies, she took a course on the anthropology of health and healing and gained an appreciation for the various ways health and medicine are viewed and experienced throughout the world. After a year of working as a judicial clerk in the criminal court division of Edmonton, Dr. Lachowich went on to pursue her naturopathic education at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto.
Throughout her four years of study at CCNM, Dr. Lachowich improved her knowledge of naturopathic modalities including botanical medicine, clinical nutrition, counselling, acupuncture, supplementation, and physical medicine. She also had the opportunity to participate in the Integrative Cancer Centre focus shift, where she gained valuable knowledge and insight into the role naturopathic medicine can have in cancer care. Dr. Lachowich has a passion for human connection and feels that getting to know the individual is key to providing excellent health care. She views it as a great honour to educate and empower her patients on all matters of health and wellness.
In addition to her studies, Dr. Lachowich has had the pleasure of travelling around the globe. During her undergraduate degree, she spent three months travelling in Africa where she developed a love for scuba diving and safaris. On a more recent trip, she spent a week living with a local family in Ecuador and was able to learn about their medicinal herbs and traditional healing practices. Travel has further enhanced Dr. Lachowich’s love for meeting new people and passion for providing health care to individuals of all identities and backgrounds.
Dr. Lachowich loves to balance her work life with some time for herself. You may find her relaxing at home with her pets, snuggled in an armchair knitting, or perusing local plant stores for the perfect plant to add to her collection. She is also an avid hockey watcher, reader, and home cook.
Dr. Lachowich naturopathic doctor. She is in good standing with the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA). She is a member of the Alberta Association of Naturopathic Doctors (AAND) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND).
